Ultimate Fighting Championship will hold a public press conference today (Nov. 9, 2011) to promote UFC on Fox: "Velasquez vs. dos Santos," which will take place this Saturday night (Nov. 12, 2011).

The conference will begin at 4 p.m. ET live from Nokia Plaza in Los Angeles, California, although the fight event will be taking place in Anaheim.

Scheduled to attend will be UFC president Dana White, as well as the headlining fighters of the evening, Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos, who will be battling for the UFC heavyweight title.

Velasquez is the current UFC heavyweight champion. The former standout Arizona State wrestler defeated Brock Lesnar via first round technical knockout to capture the title and has been on the mend rehabbing from shoulder surgery ever since.

His challenger, Junior dos Santos, currently sports a spotless 7-0 record in the UFC. The Brazilian won two separate number one contender matches to earn his shot at the title against both Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin. He was also recently a coach on season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter.

We'll have complete updates of the UFC on FOX press conference after the jump

Brian Hemminger here. The press conference is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET.

4:11 p.m. We're getting started.

Dana White: It's great to have two healthy athletes up here finally and yes this is the biggest fight in UFC history. This has built to where we have millions of fans around the world. We've broken attendance records but this Saturday night on FOX, millions of people will see the UFC that have never watched it before. The biggest moment for the sport of mixed martial arts, these are the guys that you want to see fight. Primetime showed what kind of people they are, but on Saturday you'll see what kind of fighters they are.

Cain Velasquez: It's just fight week. That's what it feels like to me. It feels the same as any other fight. I've had a long layoff but I'm excited to be here again fighting in the L.A. area

Junior dos Santos: For me, I'm excited for this fight but no pressure. I had just as much pressure in my last fight. I just want to enjoy everything and I will.

Cain Velasquez: From both of us, expect exciting fight styles. We don't put on boring fights. Both of us try to go forward. That's what fans are gonna see, that's what people who have never watched the sport will see.

Junior dos Santos: Cain has great stamina and this will be a great fight and a war.

Junior dos Santos: I think in this case, Cain Velasquez is the number one heavyweight now but I want to change this on Saturday.

Dana White: I think you're gonna see both. It's funny that people argue that some guys are too big but Cain Velasquez proved that against Brock Lesnar. As this thing grows and gets bigger and bigger around the world. Mixed martial arts is the new martial art that people are taking. It's fun to hit a ball but being a heavyweight champion is completely different.

Cain Velasquez: For me, with wrestling in college, the weight limit there was 285 so I've wrestled against guys that were bigger than me and I used what I have to compete against those guys. I weigh what I weigh and I'm happy to compete against the bigger guys.

Junior dos Santos: I think, I weigh 240 pounds and I'm not small. I'm big, like Cain Velasquez, he weighs close to me too. The difference between us and the huge guys is speed. We can have good strength and more speed and that makes the difference to me.

Cain Velasquez: My message to my supporters, thank you for the support. You guys are always behind me and you make me stronger and you make me proud.

Junior dos Santos: I can keep my focus just on the fight and Cain Velasquez. There's gonna be a lot of people rooting for him on Saturday night but I'm gonna have a lot of people rooting for me too around the whole world and that's the energy I'll bring with me into the fight.

Junior dos Santos: It's gonna be a good war like the soccer games used to be between Brazil and Mexico. I will give my best to make this belt a Brazilian belt.

Cain Velasquez: I plan on taking this fight everywhere. Dos Santos is a great boxer and I think I can take this fight in any place.

Junior dos Santos: I think it's MMA. I'm ready to fight. It doesn't matter where. I'm ready to fight standing and I will try to keep this fight standing. If this fight goes standing, it will for sure be a huge show for MMA fans. I love to fight standing. If the fight goes standing, I will try to knock him out.

Cain Velasquez: I represent hardworking people. That's what my family is and that's what I've grown up around. Mexicans are hardworking people. That's what it means to me.

Cain Velasquez: Whether in training or in the fight, just to know i have people behind me supporter me, it definitely pushes me forward. They're the ones out there supporting you and you want to please them.

Junior dos Santos: I feel great to be fighting against Cain. I will keep my focus on the fight and him. That's what I'm gonna do. I will win this fight and I will keep all my energy to win.

Dana White: Well with Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar, these were two guys from the Ultimate Fighter and they helped us get there and they put us on the map, helped us get our TV deal. They helped get us on network television. With this situation, we were more fortunate to sit back and pick a fight and put it on network television. Give me my entire roster of guys, have everybody healthy and I would still pick this fight for our network television debut. It could be 15 seconds and it could be 25 minutes. I don't know what will happen.

Dana White: My generation grew up with boxing and when boxing was huge and it was big and it was exciting and that's what mixed martial arts is for this generation now. You don't have to be an MMA fan, you just have to be a fight fan. If you see it live, the energy inside the place is insane. The last 10-12 shows we've had has been incredible. We put all the bells and whistles for them but when it's all said and done, these are the guys that make it happen. One of the best parts for me with the FOX deal, I know what type of people they are. Now that they can be on FOX on par with major league baseball and the NFL, it's the place they should have been a long time ago.

Dana White: The thing that's so cool about this sport, in boxing, you have Floyd Mayweather when he fought Ricky Hatton, you had guys in the United States and England that cared but when we put on fights, people around the world care. Everybody wants to watch this fight. You have a Mexican fighting a Brazilian and people from around the world are dying to see it. We had two Brazilians headlining in Montreal and we sold out. Fight fans are into mixed martial arts and the UFC.

Dana White: FOX sells the time and they sold this thing out immediately with all big sponsors. As far as UFC goes, our sponsorship level goes up and up and up from our humble beginnings with Condom Depot up to blue chip sponsors.

Dana White: Simon Cowell would be better than some of the judges we have in MMA now.

Cain Velasquez: I think this will go five rounds. That's what I'm prepared for, that's what I'm training for.

Junior dos Santos: I don't think it will go five rounds. I'm ready to go five rounds bu tit will finish before.

Dana White: I don't think it will go five rounds but I at least hope it goes one round.

Dana White: It was FOX's idea. They said the deal doesn't start until January but how about if we do a teaser event? We're not even in business with these guys yet and they're already the best partners we've ever had. To try to explain to you guys the seven year partnership, I can't explain it to you.

Dana White: It's definitely a huge gamechanger for us. Look at the deal with have. The Manny Pacquiao fight, we didn't make that decision, FOX did. We did it once with a Floyd Mayweather fight and there are tons of fight fans out there. When this show ends, an hour later Manny Pacquiao steps into the ring. What better for fight fans to see the UFC heavyweight title and then watch Manny Pacquiao afterwards?

Dana White: Six years ago when we got our fight deal with The Ultimate Fighter, we already had a test run on FOX when we aired that Robbie Lawler fight on The Best Damn Sports show and we did the highest ratings in the shows history but it wasn't time yet. You guys know how I felt about us controlling production and everything else. We were in talks with every network out there and this FOX thing came out of nowhere and it happened so fast. It was the perfect deal at the perfect time with the perfect people. You'd better like the guys you're doing business with if you're gonna be doing it for seven years. These are the guys we want to be in business with.

Cain Velasquez: I'm good without a nickname.

Cain Velasquez: It wasn't any different at all with the long layoff, just the rehab that the doctor had me do to get my shoulder better again. Once I did that, it was just like normal.

Junior dos Santos:  I'll knock him out with both hands. I have two hands for a reason but I like this one (points to right hand).

Dana closes the conference by granting a fan's wish to walk with Cain Velasquez to the cage on Saturday
