The UFC 141 fight card continues to take shape for Dec. 30 with welterweight scrappers Matt Riddle and Luis Ramos pegged for a 170-pound showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
From UFC.com:
Verbal agreements are in for a welterweight bout between former Shooto champion Luis "Beicao" Ramos and Ultimate Fighter veteran Matt Riddle December 30th in Las Vegas at UFC 141, UFC president Dana White announced today.
Riddle has been solved in back-to-back fights dating back to Dec. 2010. After coming up empty in a unanimous decision loss to Sean Pierson at UFC 124, the judges once again betrayed him at UFC Fight Night 25, awarding a unanimous decision victory to Lance Benoist back in September.
A loss in "Sin City" and it could be three and out.
Ramos got a rude welcome from Erick Silva in his Octagon debut at UFC 134 back in August, losing via first round technical knockout to his Brazilian counterpart.
The loss for "Beicao" was his first as a UFC employee and snapped a three fight win streak, but falling to Riddle would put him in the dreaded 0-2 hole.
Both fighters may be competing for a spot on the crowded 170-pound roster.
UFC 141 will be headlined by the return of former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, returning from intestinal surgery to welcome ex-Strikeforce and K-1 Champion Alistair Overeem to the Octagon. In lightweight action, Donald Cerrone will try to continue his rise to the top of the division against the always-dangerous Nate Diaz.
