Quick: Name the Strikeforce middleweight champion.
Four of you get a cookie (not really) for correctly naming Luke Rockhold, who has become an afterthought in the mixed martial arts world since turning in the performance of his life against Ronaldo Souza at Strikeforce: "Barnett vs. Kharitonov" this past Sept. 10 in Cincinnati.
It's not his fault. The insane UFC schedule coupled with the uncertain future of the promotion he's a champion in has led many to simply let a few details slip through the cracks.
That includes the who, what, when and where on Rockhold's first title defense. For his part, the champ tells Tatame he expects to fight Tim Kennedy in January:
"I think Tim Kennedy is out there, and from what I've been told, that's probably my next fight. Nothing's official, but they told me to get into training camp and get ready. So, I'm thinking January I'll be fighting and, most probably, it'll be Tim Kennedy."
You Maniacs up for Rockhold vs. Kennedy for the title?
