UFC on FOX, which featured a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, was a ratings home run, peaking with a staggering 8.8 million viewers during the Nov. 12 telecast.
So what does the promotion have planned for an encore?
UFC on FOX 2, naturally. After all, every great show demands a sequel and with a seven year stretch ahead of them, the world's largest fight promotion isn't wasting any time in getting its brand back on the air.
Yahoo! Sports has the report:
Multiple sources confirm that Jan. 28 is the target for UFC on Fox 2 in Chicago at the United Center.
Shoehorning UFC on FOX 2 into a late January slot is an ambitious move, considering how crowded the current 2012 schedule has already become. UFC 142: "Aldo vs. Mendes" kicks things off on Jan. 14, followed by UFC on FX a week later.
UFC 143: "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" follows the rumored FOX event on Feb. 4. Oversaturation? Not if the fights deliver.
Stay tuned.
