UFC 141: Nam Phan vs Jimy Hettes booked for Dec. 30 in Las Vegas

The UFC 141 fight card continues to take shape for Dec. 30 with featherweight scrappers Nam Phan and Jimy Hettes pegged for a 145-pound showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

From UFC.com:

Featherweights Nam Phan and Jim Hettes have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 141 on December 30th. Phan is coming off win marked by a record-setting offensive display, while Hettes remains undefeated, finishing all opponents by submission.

Phan (17-9) snapped a two-fight losing streak to exact revenge on featherweight "Bad Boy" Leonard Garcia. It was the former Ultimate Fighter's second mixed martial arts bout in two months and he won't be getting much time to rest as he prepares for his third before year's end.

And a very dangerous one at that.

Hettes (9-0) makes his second appearance inside the Octagon after strangling former TUF guy Alex Caceres in his ZUFFA debut. The submission win over "Bruce Leroy" made it nine straight for "The Kid," who has won all of his contests by way of tap, nap or snap.

UFC 141 will be headlined by the return of former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, returning from intestinal surgery to welcome ex-Strikeforce and K-1 Champion Alistair Overeem to the Octagon. In lightweight action, Donald Cerrone will try to continue his rise to the top of the division against the always-dangerous Nate Diaz.
