"The UFC offered me a title shot straight away but I want to stay active. I'd have had to stay inactive for 4-6 months so they came up with a solution to fight Brock on New Year's Eve and I immediately said yes. ... It's not that much different than any other fighter. I have my cardio routines. What Brock does is pretty straightforward. I'm gonna be prepared. ... I have about 10 times as much experience. I'm gonna tear this guy apart piece by piece."
-- Speaking at the UFC 141 press conference held today in California (watch the whole thing right here), Alistair Overeem certainly isn't short on confidence heading into his Octagon debut against Brock Lesnar on Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lesnar may be a giant of a man with incredible cardio and huge power but this isn't the "Demolition Man's" first rodeo. He's about around the block a few times and picked up a few tricks along the way. "Reem" says he'll be more than prepared for anything Brock can throw at him come fight night. And not only that, by the time the deadly Dutchman is done with the collegiate champion wrestler, he will have ripped Lesnar apart "piece by piece." Anyone think this fight will be a blowout like Overeem is promising? Or will the Brockness Monster do his thing and make a successful return to action?
