With Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) visiting "Space City" last night (Oct. 8, 2011) to put on UFC 136 for the fans at the Toyota Center, it's only fitting that there should be more "Houston" news in the mixed martial arts (MMA) world.
Former UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander made his Instinct MMA debut over the weekend in Montreal, Canada. His opponent was former hockey "goon" Steve Bosse.
Alexander came into tonight's fight on a four-fight win streak and a heavy favorite. Unfortunately for Alexander, the betting odds don't mean a whole lot once the cage door shuts and the leather starts to fly.
