"I like tights, I’ve always worn them. They’re just more comfortable for me; I move better, plus I don’t want a guy to grab them if I’m in a fight. I’m a hard-nosed guy, I’m ready to fight, and I’m ready to have some fun and show some fireworks. I think I’m ready. I’ve trained with some great guys and I hope I can produce like I have been because that’s the name of the game – winning. [Forrest Petz] told me 'it’s you and another guy in a cage and yeah, there’s people there, but they’re not gonna help you in a fight.' And that’s how I look at it."
Former Golden Gloves champion, NCAA Division I wrestler and heir to the checkered shorts, Stipe Miocic, tells UFC.com he's ready to show fight fans what he's capable of against the hard-hitting Joey Beltran at the UFC 136: "Edgar vs. Maynard III" pay-per-view event on Saturday night (Oct. 8) in Houston, Texas. Miocic will be making his promotion debut in "Space City" after terrorizing the regional fight scene and racking up a perfect 6-0 record and finishing all six of his victims in the process. Are we witnessing the debut of the next big thing at heavyweight? Or will he find the water is a little too deep inside the UFC's stacked 265-pound division?
