UFC 140 results and LIVE fight coverage for 'Jones vs Machida' on Dec. 10 in Toronto

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to pull the trigger on its upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) fight card TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 10, 2011) from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

UFC 140: "Jones vs. Machida" will be headlined by Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, defending his title against former division kingpin and elusive "Dragon" Lyoto Machida. In addition, two legendary Brazilian brothers will be in action, with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira gunning for revenge against Frank Mir, while Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will look to bury Tito Ortiz's once and for all.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida (205-pound limit)

Round one: Jones comes out crawling again then stands up traditional style. Leg kick from Jones. Side kick to the thigh from Jones. Spinning back kick from Jones misses. Leg kick from Machida. Hard leg kick from Jones. Good leg kick from Jones then he blocks a right from Machida. Kick to the thigh from Jones. Powerful leg kick from Jones and Machida counter with a right that barely misses. Jones is the faster man. Left from Machida lands. Good body kick and left from Machida. High kick from Jones misses. Good counter right from Machida. Machida again lands a stiff left that backs up Jones! Body kick from Machida he is finding holes now and he stunned Jones with that left. Good high kick from Jones glances the head of Machida. That is the bell and a close round but I think Machida landing the more significant blows in that round. 10-9 Machida.


Round two: Leg kick from Jones. Leg kick from Machida. Spinning back kick from Jones. High kick from Jones lands. Leg kick from Jones. Good body kick from Jones. Leg kick from Jones. Good right from Machida and now he is throwing wild punches at Jones and gets him to back off even though he didnt land. Jones looks hesitant now knowing Machida can land. Big right from Jones lands HARD. Now Jones with a big take down and he lands a big elbow right off the bat. Machida already bleeding badly from his forehead. Jones looking for a choke now. Machida working up to his feet and Jones lands a big knee to the leg. Ref stops it to check out the cut on Machida's forehead. Doctor gives the ok. Machida is cut bad. Foot stomps from Jones and then a knee to the body. More knees to the body from Jones. Jones lands a big right that drops Machida!!! Jones grabs a hold of a choke!! Its a standing guillotine and Machida will not tap!!! The ref stops the fight and Jones lets go of the standing guillotine and Machida crumples to the mat and he is OUT COLD! Machida is ASLEEP!!! Amazing win after some real trouble for Jones.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (265-pound limit)

Round one: Good jab from Big Nog to start. Now Nogueira with a take down attempt stopped and their tied up against the cage. Short punches from Nog. Good knee to the body from Mir. Short knee from Nog. Mir now with a trip take down. Mir in half guard. Nog back up easily and back up against the cage. More short punches from Nog. Hard elbow from Nog and another hard elbow. Another big elbow and then a knee from Nog. Hard right then left hand and Mir falls to the mat!!!! Nog now on top and landing some big hammer fists!! Nog goes for a choke and Mir slips out!! Big Nog almost is out and now he is in side control and he has the kimura!!! Nog is rolling around trying to get out but Mir has this kimura locked in DEEP! Thats it Big Nog taps out!!! WOW~~!! Replays show that Mir literally broke Nogueira's arm you saw it break.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Tito Ortiz (205-pound limit)

Round one: Head kick then flurry from Ortiz to start. Good short uppercut from Tito now. Shot from Tito and he has a single leg and now pushes Lil Nog against the cage. Clinch from Tito now and he lands a short uppercut then right hand. Good dirty boxing from Ortiz against the cage. Good uppercut from Tito. Now Nogueira lands a good left hand on the break. Another good left from Nog. Now Nogueira swinging wildly. Knee from Nogueira and Ortiz falls to the mat!! Tito covering up now and gets full guard but Nogueira trying to finish this fight! Ortiz throwing up his legs high looking for an arm triangle. Nogueira now landing elbows to the body and big punches from the top. Ortiz covering up and trying to just stay alive. Nogueira with great elbows to the body. More body shots from Nogueira and Ortiz is wincing in pain and that is it the ref stops the fight!!

Brian Ebersole vs. Claude Patrick (170-pound limit)

Round one: Right from Ebersole. Shot from Ebersole and he is going for a single and Patrick defends perfectly and now their tied up in the center of the cage on their feet. Now their against the cage and Ebersole knees the thighs. Knee from Patrick. Body shot from Patrick. Knees to the stomach from Patrick. Ebersole drops down looking for a take down and Patrick drops down and locks in the guillotine choke!! Ebersole gives a thumbs up and eventually slips out and is now on top. Patrick works his way back to his feet now. Jab from Ebersole. Nice knee then left hook from Patrick and Ebersole with a good jab then combo. Good body shot from Ebersole. Ebersole again looking for the take down. Patrick defends. Patrick with a flurry of punches now at the bell. Very close round ill lean towards Patrick but it could go to either man. 10-9 Patrick.


Round two: Jab from Ebersole. Patrick giving chase and lands a glancing left. Knee from Patrick barely lands. Good left hand from a tie up by Patrick and then a good knee and Ebersole grabs a hold of the legs and is going for the take down again. Good elbow from Ebersole. Another shot from Ebersole. Patrick with good defense against the cage. Nice knee then a short elbow from Patrick. Knee to the thigh from Ebersole. Patrick shoots and is stuffed by Ebersole. Again more tie up against the cage and it is making this fight very tough to score. Good left from Ebersole and front kick from Patrick. Left from Patrick and now their tied up against the cage once again. They break and now Patrick lands two HARD lefts that make Ebersole cover up. Patrick shoots and is stuffed and the bell rings. Another close round again Ill lean Patrick. 10-9 Patrick.


Round three: Ebersole shoots and Patrick stuffs it. Ebersole still going hard after it and Patrick with amazing defense. Now Ebersole ends up on top after a botched choke attempt by Patrick. Full guard for Patrick. Now butterfly guard from Patrick. Patrick works his way to the feet. Ebersole grabs a hold and slams Patrick back to the mat. Side control for Ebersole and Patrick now working his way to his feet again and Ebersole has the back. Ebersole has one hook in now. Patrick works his way out again and now their tied up against the cage once again. Ebersole while working for a take down and Patrick has a hold of his arm though and uses it to get on top in north south position. Patrick rolls and has a brief choke, but Ebersole slips out and now their back up. Both men trade hard strikes now. Good body shot then knee from Patrick and a right from Ebersole. Ebersole shoots again and Patrick stuffs it again and now Patricks goes for a gator roll choke and has is locked in but Ebersole slips out again. Ebersole on top as the bell rings. Another close round this fight could go either way. Ill lean Ebersole for round 3. 10-9 Ebersole.

Final result: Brian Ebersole defeats Claude Patrick via Split Decision

Mark Hominick vs. Chan Sung Jung (145-pound limit)

Round one: Huge right from Jung to start the fight!!!! Hominick falls to the mat and Jung is over the top of him and is raining down punches!!!! Hominick is out!!! Wow this fight is over in a matter of SECONDS! Jung with an amazing win UNBELIEVABLE!

Igor Pokrajac vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (205-pound limit)

Round one: A furious exchange right away. Soszynski lands a good right hand to the head. Pokrajac comes back and lands a big combo of punches. Pokrajac lands a big right and Sosznski is wobbled! Soszynski is hurt and he's face down on the canvas! He's out! It's over! If you got up to get a drink, you missed it! Amazing!

Final result: Igor Pokrajac via KO (punches) 0:35 of round one

Jared Hamman vs. Constantinos Philippou (185-pound limit)

Round one: Hamman, the proud owner of a brand new moustache, comes right out and attacks with an inside leg kick. Philippou lands a nice left hook. Hamman with another good leg kick. Philippou lands a good looping right hand that barely missed putting Hamman to sleep. Hamman rushes in and eats several punches in the face. Hamman with a big outside leg kick. And another. And one more, but he is tagged with a huge right hand to the head. Philippou blitzes him and jumps on him on the canvas. Philippou working for a choke now on his very dazed opponent. Somehow Hamman survived and is back on his feet. Philippou lands another huge right. He is unloading on Hamman who is inexplicably still going! Hamman is wobbly. Philippou lands another couple of huge punches that send Hallman plummeting headfirst to the mat and it's over! The referee has mercifully stopped the fight. Big win for Philippou.

Final result: Constantinos Phillipou via TKO (strikes) at 3:11 of round one

Dennis Hallman vs. John Makdessi (155-pound limit)

Round one: Hallman shoots,e right out the gate. Makdessi sprawls and defends well but Hallman isn't letting go. Hallman has him pinned against the fence. Hallman has him down. Makdessi is turtling up and is eating a lot of shots. Hallman has his back and is looking to stretch him out. He's got both hooks in and Makdessi looks like he has no clue what to do. Hallman is battering him with shots. This could be over soon. Hallman grabs a rear-naked choke. Makdessi rolls over to avoid the choke but is fully mounted. Hallman is raining down vicious ground and pound. Just under three minutes left. Makdessi is barely surviving, holding on for dear life. Elbows from the top by Hallman. Makdessi rolls again and Hallman is looking for a choke. He taps! Hallman with the very nice submission win in the first round.

Final result: Dennis Hallman via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:58 of round one

Yves Jabouin vs. Walel Watson (135-pound limit)

Round one: Watson with big head kick attempt that misses. Jabouin throws big left hand. Hits only air. Watson peddling backwards, lands a good right hand to the head. Jabouin with an inside leg kick. Jabouin comes forward and lands a couple of good right hands. Watson pushes ahead, throwing a punch combo, not landing for the most part. Watson feints a side kick to the head. Watson throws a big spinning backfist that misses and then is hit a hard inside leg kick. Watson shoots and misses, finding himself pressed against the fence by Jabouin, who sweeps for the takedown right after. Jabouin postures up and Watson escapes out the back. Just under two minutes left. Watson working for standing kimura. Jabouin defending. Jabouin works his arm free, then goes for takedown but Watson is able to defend successfully. Watson throws a decent punch-kick combo. Round ends with a flurry of punches exchanged by both fighters. Tough to score. Probably 10-9 for Jabouin.

Round two: Jabouin with good outside leg kick. Watson with inside leg kick. Watson with a front kick to the midsection, that doesn't solidly connect. Watson very active on with his footwork, looking to avoid the stand up of Jabouin. Fighters exchange in a technical back-and-forth that is fairly even. Big body kick by Jabouin then an inside leg kick. Watson looking a little less comfortable standing. Thunderous outside leg kick by Jabouin. Watson throwing kicks, halfheartedly, more looking to find a hole than to do damage. Two minutes left. Watson rushes in and throws a big right hand, partially blocked. Jabouin with a left hand to right outside leg kick combo. Watson with good side kick to the body. Fighters clinch in the middle, exchanging short punches. Jabouin breaks free. Jabouin with a very nice spinning backfist, then shoots for a takedown. He gets it, but finds himself in a guillotine. Watson working hard for the finish. Joubin is able to sneak out. Very close! Still should be a 10-9 round for Joubin.

Round three: Watson working inside leg kick. Jabouin answers with a solid right kick to the thigh. Another inside leg kick by Jabouin. Side kick by Jabouin. Watson throws silly, unorthodox spinning kick that does nothing but make Jabouin smile. Big body kick by Watson. And another. Three minutes left. Inside leg kick by Watson. Watson with the body kick, followed by a good jab. Solid leg kick by Jabouin. Jabouin really starting to land a high volume of leg kicks. Jabouin shoots and gets takedown but Watson reverses and gets a hold of Jabouin's arm. Watson unable to do much with it but he's in dominant top position now. A minute and a half left. Bad spot for Jabouin. Watson working for a d'arce choke. He almost has it! This is bad! Watson goes for the big squeeze but Jabouin sneaks out and lands a big spinning back kick as he gets to his feet! Head kick by Watson that just glances. Fighters clearly gassed as round ends with them both with hands on hips, throwing everything they have left as the horn sounds. 10-9 Watson.

Final result: Yves Jabouin via split decision

Mark Bocek vs. Nik Lentz (155-pound limit)

Round one: Lentz with good high kick right away. Bocek clinches and lands a good knee. Bocek clinches again and lands another couple of knees. Action up against the cage now. Lentz throws a head kick that misses and gets hit with knee to the body by Bocek. fighters clinched against cage, both working for takedown. Advantage: Bocek. The hometown hero Bocek is on top in full guard, working for side control. Lentz looks for guillotine from bottom. It's tight! Bocek looked to be in trouble for a second but calmly defends. He's out. Two and a half to go in the round. Bocek still on top. Bocek trying to step over to pass the guard. Bocek lands a good right hand to the head. Lentz tries to grab hold of Bocek's neck again but nothing doing. Bocek continues to land occasional ground and pound shots from the top. One minute left. Bocek has side control now. Lentz landing elbows from the bottom but is warned by Herb Dean to avoid the back of the head. Bocek is pack in full guard. Very good round for Bocek. 10-9 Bocek.

Round two: Bocek with inside leg kick. Bocek with big overhand right. Bocek shoots but is stuffed. Bocek throws another big overhand right but misses this time. Lentz misses with a kick and ends up in a reverse, upside down triangle and his legs around Bocek's neck. Bocek patiently waits, then shakes him off, ending up on top in full guard afterwards. We're back to where we left things at the end of round one. Not good news for Lentz. Bocek raining down harmful elbows now from the top. Somehow, in the scrum, Bocek has developed a cut over his left eye. Hard to see where and when that occurred. Two minutes left and Bocek is still on top in dominant position. Lentz grabs the neck again, but Bocek is out quickly. Bocek continually working for side control. Lentz defending well but completely unable to escape. Lentz goes for another guillotine attempt . Bocek stands up to try and shake him off, then slams him to the mat. He's out. Under a minute left. Bocek ends the round on top. Herb stands them up with 26 seconds to go. Comical pause as Bocek's shorts come partially down and he has to pull them back up. Much to the amusement of the Toronto crowd. 10-9 Bocek.

Round three: Bocek with inside leg kick. Bocek shoots for double leg. Lentz defends, but it's futile as he ends up on his back, yet again. Lentz tries for another guillotine, but Bocek defends and is out, seemingly with ease. Bocek working inside the full guard. Bocek with a heavy top game, completely smothering Lentz, who has been on defense this whole fight. Lentz trying, once again, for a guillotine from the bottom. Bocek out and stands back to his feet. Lentz lands a very nice uppercut that pops Bocek's head back. Lentz with a good left hook that lands. Bocek shoots and is on top again. Lentz has his neck, but Bocek slithers out, rears back and lands a solid right hand to the head. Bocek landing a bevy of elbows. Herb Dean puzzlingly emplores the fighters to work, as Bocek continues to rain elbows to the body and head of Nick Lentz. One minute to go. Bocek postures up and hits Lentz with hammerfists and punches. Bocek is pouring it on now! Not much time left. Bocek is up. Lentz attempts a punch as he gets up and is hit with a kick as he backs away.

Final result: Mark Bocek via unanimous decision

Rich Attonito vs. Jake Hecht (170-pound limit)

Round one: Hecht comes out with huge outside leg kick right away. And another! Hecht with superman punch attempt that misses. Hecht with good kick to the body. Attonito lands decent right hand. Hecht with good puch kick to the shin of Attonito. Hecht with another good body kick. Attonito shoots and gets the takedown. Attonito in half guard,working for side control. Attonito in full guard now. Three minutes left. Hecht lands a good elbow from his back. Attonito answers with an eblow of his own from the top. Hecht very active from the bottom, looking for a submission. Hecht lands a couple of hard elbows from the bottom, again. Attonito postures up and lands a good right hand, still working the ground and pound. About a minute to go. Attonito lands another good right hand. Attoniot working to try and get side control but then is back in the full guard. Attonito with a good hammerfist. Lots of ground and pound for Attonito. 10-9 round for Attonito.

Round two: Hecht comes out throwing a flurry of punches. Head kick attempt by Hecht that misses. Attonito clinches and gets underhooks, working now for the takedown. Hecht sprawling looking to defend but Attonito working relentlessly. Hecht nails him with an elbow that cuts him and makes his legs buckle! He's down! Hecht is all over him, nailing him with punches! Out of nowhere, this fight is finished!

Final result: Jake Hecht by TKO (strikes) at 1:10 of round two

Mitch Clarke vs. John Cholish (155-pound limit)

Round one: Fighters touch gloves then back away to measure distance. Cholish shoots and is stuffed. Cholish shoots again for a single leg takedown and is stuffed once more. Clarke tries to grab hold of a guillotine but Cholish is out quickly. Cholish with a good two-punch-to-outside-legkick combo. Clarke answers with inside leg kick. Cholish with good overhand right that lands. Cholish sweeps and Clarke is down but springs right back up. Clarke has his back, but Cholish rolls for a kneebar! He lets it go but is now in Clarke's guard, working for a mount. Just over two minutes to go. Clarke trying to wall walk -- and he does. Back up. Almost immediately, Cholish puts him back down on his back. Cholish looking to posture up and lands some elbows from inside the guard. Cholish rears back and Clarke tries to nail him with a good upkick. The upkick misses but Clarke uses it to get back up. One minute left. Clarke coming forward aggressively with punches and kicks but not really landing. Cholish fakes a shot and backs away, then shoots in again. Cholish almost gets the takedown but Clarke is able to pull his leg out. Round's over. 10-9 Cholish.

Round two: Cholish catches Clarke with a good right cross to the head. Clarke comes forward, pushing the pace. Clarke clinches up and looks to land knees but gets hit with a couple uppercuts. Inside leg kick by Clarke. Cholish shoots, grabs underhooks and now has him up against the fence, working for the takedown. Clarke lands a few knees in the clinch and Cholish backs away. Good left hand by Clarke. Cholish lands another good overhand right. fighters are continually trading inside leg kicks. Just under three to go. Clarke's pace has clearly slowed. Cholish pops his opponent's head back with a good, stiff jab. Cholish with a huge overhand right that lands. Clarke is taking it but this has to be doing damage. Cholish shoots and gets the takedown. Just under two minutes left as Cholish works inside the full guard of Clarke. Cholish landing some good ground-and-pound now, mainly elbows. Clarke desperately looking to escape and get back up but Cholish doing a good job keeping his hips heavy. Clarke gets out and back up but Cholish takes his back in the transition scramble. Cholish is punishing him now with some huge punches from the top and that's it!! The referee has stepped in! It's all over!

Final result: John Cholish via TKO (strikes) at 4:36 of round two
