UPDATE: *** Easy come, easy go. Sherdog's Loretta Hunt gets word from Kimbo's manager that the fight is a no-go.
Talk about a freak show fight.
MMA Fighting brings word that Kimbo Slice's next fight may come against former strongman competitor Mariusz Pudzianowski at Moosin MMA's next event, tentatively scheduled for October 9 at a venue yet to be determined in Chicago, Illinois.
Kimbo was kicked to the curb by the UFC after his less than impressive performance against Matt Mitrione back in May at UFC 113, and subsequently made himself available to those MMA promotions interested in employing the ratings monster.
Scott Coker and Strikeforce apparently passed, but Moosin looks ready to get a slice of the Bahamian brawler business.
Slice made his way into the UFC the only way Dana White would let him -- as a contestant on the aforementioned Spike TV reality show. Unfortunately, the former YouTube brawler was an early victim to Roy Nelson's belly-to-beard crucifix and was eliminated from the competition in episode three.
Nevertheless, he was given a second chance at UFC stardom (and an opportunity to pad the numbers for key demographics at the Dec. 5 TUF 10 Finale) when he squared off against Houston Alexander in a fight that saw "The Assassin" play ring-around-the-rosy for three rounds with Slice in pursuit.
After huffing and puffing his way to a unanimous decision win, he got another power puncher to slug it out with in Montreal. Kimbo though, didn't make the most of his opportunity with the world's largest MMA promotion, thus finding himself in the unemployment line on May 9.
Pudzianowski of course competed at Moosin's first event back on May 21 in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was obliterated by Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia en route to tapping due to strikes in the second frame.
The Polish behemoth will likely at least be on par with Kimbo in one aspect of the match up... cardio. Neither man has displayed much, if any, stamina inside of the cage, setting up what is sure to be a thrilling contest.
Bravo, Moosin. Bravo.
