War Machine choked out en route to the big house at Tachi Palace Fights 5 on July 9

So much for leaving on a high note.

War Machine, the artist formerly known as UFC washout Jon Koppenhaver, was submitted last night (July 9) by John Alessio in his final bout before serving a one-year prison sentence (beginning July 16) for his guilty plea stemming from felony assault charges earlier this year.

Tachi Palace Fights 5: "Stars and Strikes" also featured former WEC lightweight "Razor" Rob McCullough in his return to the win column with a technical knockout stoppage over Isaac de Jesus in the main event.

One-time "Ultimate Fighter" Gabe Reudiger continued to impress, finishing Lenny Lovato with a barrage of punches in the first round. Despite his less-than-stellar run on TUF 5, "Godzilla" has let his fists do the talking, winning six straight fights -- all of them stoppages.
