Josh Grispi: 'The WEC likes to just throw me in there with the sharks every time'

Quoteworthy:

"I don't know why the WEC likes to just throw me in there with the sharks every time, but I don't care. I'm used to it. Hopefully I'm the underdog again. This guy has been in there consistently and I've been out for a while so hopefully I'm under the radar and he takes me lightly and I can just catch him off guard. This guy probably wants to keep getting up in the ranks too so hopefully after my next win I could be up there for a title shot. It could change since I've been out, but hopefully I get in line for a title shot. Either way, I'm still going to be around for a while."

Fast-rising featherweight prospect Josh Grispi (13-1) looks to continue his ascension to the top of the 145-pound rankings when he battles fellow up-and-comer L.C. Davis at the WEC 49 event scheduled for June 20 at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. "The Fluke" hasn't seen the inside of the cage since making quick work of fading legend Jens Pulver at WEC 41: "Brown vs. Faber 2" last June and can probably blame his nine-fight winning streak and undefeated WEC resume as the reason for getting such stiff competition time and time again. Anyone besides Nostradumbass think this young gun has the tools to make it to the top?
