"I'm very, very happy with this victory. Mike Swick is a very tough guy and I knew it was going to be a tough fight. Mike Swick has a big career with the UFC so it's normal that people were going to think he would win. But I trained very hard, day and night. People should expect my next fight to be even better performance and continued improvement but yes, [back to work on Monday]."
Brazilian supercop Paulo Thiago continues to defy the odds and muscle his way up the welterweight rankings, once again using a top-ranked fighter from the American Kickboxing Acadamy (AKA) as his springboard. Thiago pushed his record to 13-1at UFC 109 with a "Relentless" attack on Mike Swick, who succumbed to a perfectly executed D'arce choke in the second frame of their main card bout. It's back to work on Monday for the special forces police officer who promises to return to the Octagon even better the next time. That's a scary proposition for the rest of the 170-pound division and may have Josh Koscheck reconsidering that rematch he's been trying to get since falling to the Brazilian at UFC 95 in Thiago's UFC debut. Any fantasy matchmaker's want to take a stab at who his next victim might be?
