The Arizona Boxing and MMA Commission recently released its list of medical suspensions for WEC 53: "Henderson vs Pettis," which took place on Dec. 16 from the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
All but two of the seven undercard bouts of the evening resulted in a finish. Of those five, three were by knockout and the fighters on the short end of the stick were the ones put on the shelf.
Chief among the surprisingly small list is bantamweight Ken Stone (60 days), after he was slammed through the mat by Eddie Wineland and carried out on a stretcher.
Also riding the pine for their respective knockout losses, are Ricardo Lamas (30 days) and William Kerr (60 days).
Here is a complete list of WEC 53 medical suspensions (via ULTMMA.com):
Ricardo Lamas -- 30 days
William Kerr -- 60 days
Ken Stone -- 60 days
Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
