Medical suspensions have been released for the fighters competing at UFC 124: "St. Pierre vs Koscheck II," which took place on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
With several of the bouts ending early (and violently), there were a handful of fighters who were flagged follow up visits with their doctors -- though the entire roster was benched for at least seven days.
Chief among them is Josh Koscheck (60 days) for the damage he sustained at the hand(s) of Georges St. Pierre for the five round beating he took that resulted in a fractured orbital bone.
Joining him on injured reserve is lightweight Joe Stevenson (60 days) after Mac Danzig put "Daddy" down for a nap with a Flair-flop from a perfectly-timed counter left hook.
Here is the complete list of UFC 124 medical suspensions (via MixedMartialArts.com):
60 Days: Josh Koscheck, Joe Stevenson
45 Days: Dan Miller, Joe Doerksen, Sean Pierson
30 Days: Sean McCorkle, John Howard, Rafael Natal, Matt Riddle, T.J. Grant, Pat Audinwood
28 Days: Georges St. Pierre
21 Days: Thiago Alves, Jesse Bongfeldt
14 Days: Ricardo Almeida, John Makdessi
7 Days: Stefan Struve, Jim Miller, Charles Oliveira, Mac Danzig, Dustin Hazelett, Mark Bocek
Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
