Oh no, they say, he's got to go ... go go Godzilla!
After a groin injury booted him from the UFC 123 pay-per-view event back on Nov. 20, former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 contestant Gabe Ruediger will get yet another chance to prove he belongs among the ranks of the Octagon's finest when he battles Paul Taylor at the upcoming UFC 126 event on Feb. 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MMA Weekly brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.
Ruediger (17-6) was the recipient of a "Beantown" beatdown at UFC 118 back on Aug. 28 when fellow TUF guy Joe Lauzon gave him a first round shellacking at the TD Garden during the Spike TV "Prelims" special featuring their 155-pound contest.
The loss snapped a six-fight winning streak for "Cake Boss."
Like Ruediger, Taylor is hoping to keep himself employed after falling to Sam Stout at UFC 121 last October. The split decision loss was the second straight defeat for "Relentless," who now stands at 3-5 as a Zuffa employee.
The Brit needs to win -- and win big -- if he plans on sticking around for the rest of the 2011 fight campaign.
UFC 126 will feature a headlining bout of Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva defending his strap against the fast hands of Vitor Belfort in a fight that was originally scheduled for UFC 112.
The undercard consists of a 205-pound clash between friends as Forrest Griffin takes on Rich Franklin while a monumental showdown pitting rising prospects against each other in Jon Jones vs Ryan Bader will also take place.
