UFC returns to Brazil in November 2011

Octagon-11_medium

For the first time in 13 years, the UFC will make it's way to Brazil.

Sources confirmed the news with Graciemag.

The November event is scheduled to take place at the HSBC Arena in Barra da Tijuca. The HSBC Arena opened in July 2007 and has hosted numerous concerts from bands such as Green Day and Maroon 5. The arena also hosted the 2007 Pan American games.

An exact date has not been determined.

The UFC's first trip to Brazil was on Oct. 16, 1998. The event was dubbed "Ultimate Brazil." Many well known MMA fighters were on the card such as Pat Miletich, Pedro Rizzo, Vitor Belfort, Wanderlei Silva and Frank Shamrock.

On that card, Shamrock retained his light heavyweight title and "The Phenom" TKO'd "The Axe Murderer" in 44 seconds.

So now that the UFC will be making it's return to Brazil, let's hear what fights you would put together on a card 13 years in the making.
