The official weigh-in event for WEC 45: "Cerrone vs. Ratcliff" is set to go down today LIVE (Dec. 18) at the Key West Ballroom from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
WEC 45: "Cerrone vs. Ratcliff" will feature a main event between top lightweights Donald Cerrone and Ed Ratcliff, as well as nine other confirmed bouts. The two 155-pounders are looking to rise to the top of the division and get near the front of the contender pack as 2010 approaches.
"Cowboy" looked antsy, refusing to stand still for a stare down with "9mm." Ratcliff didn't seem to be too bothered by it though. When asked for his prediction for tomorrow night, he summed it up in one word, "knockout."
Former IFL sensation Chris Horodecki, making his promotional debut and WEC veteran Anthony Njokuani are also slated to collide in another exciting lightweight showdown. In addition, bantamweights Takeya Mizugaki and Scott Jorgensen look to bang their way back into title contention.
Mizugaki and Njokuani were the only 2 fighters on the card who missed weight. Both main card participants weighed in 1 pound heavy for their division limits. They each were given 1 hour to shed the excess weight, and both were successful in doing so. Mizugaki came in at 135 pounds and Njokuani registered 156 pounds on their respective second attempts.
