World Victory Road's newly-named Sengoku Raiden Championship (SRC) has opted out of its scheduled Dec. 31 supershow at the Ariake Colosseum, instead bringing its stable of fighters to FieLDS Dynamite!! under the care of Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG) at the Saitama Super Arena on New Year's Eve.
FEG is the parent company of DREAM and K-1 and holds the Dynamite!! year end supershow on an annual basis. SRC fighters will be paired up as best as possible with FEG combatants but Sengoku's featured bout of Hidehiko Yoshida vs. Satoshi Ishii will remain intact and co-headline K-1's Masato vs. Andy Souwer as the evening's main event.
How much life SRC has left in it after the Dec. 31 show remains to be seen. While the WVR promoters remain optimistic about their 2010 presence, there have been financial issues behind the scenes.
