It only took us one year (almost exactly), but as you'll notice we are now officially on the SB Nation platform.
So what's it mean for you? What will change? What can you expect?
All good things we hope ... otherwise we never would have made the switch.
SB Nation has always advocated community participation, empowering fans to share their thoughts and have their voices heard. That means you can now do much more than debate hot issues and opinions in the comments sections of our posts.
It gets better.
That's because you will soon get to create daily threads and submit stories through "Fan Posts" and "Fan Shots." No more "off topic" comments, thread hijacks or having us decide what gets posted and what does not.
You, the reader, will have the power to create your own stories and have other Maniacs comment on them. It also means unique log in IDs, which is a major issue that our readers have been asking for since we started way back when.
That's just the tip of the iceberg of all the benefits now available to you.
Of course, I will continue to steer the ship and Jesse Holland has for whatever reason agreed to come along for the ride. Our other MMAmania contributors will also still continue to chip in whenever they feel like it or when we twist their arms.
Again, nothing will change in how we operate. In fact, the new format will help us build on this winning formula with more talented writers emerging through the new blogging opportunities.
We will post instructions and other tips on how to effectively use the new features on MMAmania.com in the next few upcoming weeks -- so keep your eyes peeled. That shouldn't stop you, however, from exploring the various new sections, creating your custom IDs (you may already have one if you visit BloodyElbow.com), commenting on stories and sharing your MMA-related opinions.
It's business as usual.
There will more than likely be a few hiccups -- this is all new to us, too. So let us know if something ain't right or isn't working the way it should. And if you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comments section below.
Thanks, as always, for making this place one of (if not the best) places on the Web for MMA news and discussion. It wouldn't be possible without our readers, so we definitely want to hear what you have to say.
Have at it, Maniacs. And, again, let us know if there is anything we can do to help to get you up to speed as quickly as possible.
