Spike TV will soon introduce a five-part special to "celebrate" the historic Centennial pay-per-view (PPV) event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, highlighting the best brawls ever to go down inside the Octagon in "UFC's Ultimate 100: Greatest Fights."
As if that isn’t cool enough, the network announced that fans will determine the final results by casting their votes over at Spike.com, beginning on May 1, 2009. The first hour-long episode of "UFC's Ultimate 100: Greatest Fights" will debut on July 5, 2009, at 9 p.m. ET.
Here is a snip on what to expect:
"Each episode of "UFC's Ultimate 100: Greatest Fights" will count down the top 100 with action-packed moments from each contest. The first one-hour installment will premiere Sunday, July 5 at 9:00pm ET/PT, with the next three episodes airing Monday July 6-Wednesday, July 8 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The final episode airs Saturday, July 11 at 9:00pm ET/PT which will conclude a re-broadcast of the entire voted UFC bout."
UFC 100, which is slated for the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 11, will feature a main event between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and the division's interim title keeper, Frank Mir, to determine once and for all an undisputed champion.
In addition, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre will once again defend his 170-pound strap against number one contender, Thiago Alves. Rounding out the superfight trio is a a middleweight brawl between The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) TUF 9 coaches, Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping, who will collide to determine who earns the right to challenge the reigning middleweight champion later in 2009.
