Watch Bellator events online every Wednesday morning commercial-free

Los Angeles, Calif. -- Bellator Fighting Championships announced the exclusive launch of its English-language broadcast on Bellator.com beginning today, bringing Bellator’s explosive and exciting events directly to its English speaking fans.

Each broadcast will be available at www.Bellator.com every Wednesday at 7 a.m. ET and will stream continuously from that point on, allowing fans to watch an entire fight card or just a piece of an entire event, while also having immediate access to stats, blogs and tournament standings.

The broadcasts, consisting of the full commercial-free event coverage, are hosted by popular mixed martial arts (MMA) commentators/experts, Jon Anik and Jason Chambers who provide in-depth analysis during the entire Season 1 championship tournament.

The combination of ESPN’s MMA Live anchor, Anik and mixed martial artist/television personality Chambers brings a wealth of talent, personality and experience as well as in-depth inside-the-cage knowledge to every event. This tremendous on-air talent team provides MMA fans with the highest quality expert analysis for Bellator’s highly-anticipated online premiere, and through each of the following 12 weeks’ broadcasts.

Jon Anik, currently hosting ESPN’s widely popular web series MMA Live, joined the ESPN team in 2006, where he has since served as both a broadcast and radio personality. Backed by an extensive MMA and boxing resume, Anik will provide the English language blow-by-blow commentary for all Bellator fights in addition to his perspective on Bellator’s tournament, fighters and match-ups in the tournament competition. Partnering with Anik is MMA fighter and television personality Jason Chambers.

Chambers has enjoyed a very successful professional career with an 18-5 record and just last year hosted the successful History Channel series Human Weapon, where Chambers traveled the globe to study and practice various methods of martial arts. This unique combination of in-the-cage and on-the-air MMA experience, coupled with a vast amount of shared MMA knowledge will provide great insight and entertainment to MMA fans worldwide.

"We are happy to bring fans this online option to experience Bellator’s 2009 tournament at their leisure and according to their schedule. The English language program on Bellator.com will be the full broadcast with top commentators, Jon and Jason, just without the commercials. The Bellator tournament is all about the fighters controlling their own destiny inside the cage. This online broadcast is all about our fans and bringing them the excitement of Bellator’s events, whenever they want to see it, whether it is in their homes or offices," said Bjorn Rebney, CEO of Bellator Fighting Championships.

Bellator Fighting Championships’ premiere season consists of 12 two-hour events to be broadcast weekly in primetime on Saturday nights on ESPN Deportes, and the English broadcast will be available on Bellator’s website on Wednesdays starting at 7 A.M. EST. The events feature a combination of tournament and non-tournament special feature bouts. There are four simultaneous tournaments taking place in season #1 over a three month period: one in each of the Featherweight (145 lb.), Lightweight (155 lb.), Welterweight (170 lb.) and Middleweight (185 lb.) divisions.
