Add a middleweight slugfest between Marvin Eastman (15-7-1) and Drew McFedries (6-3) to the growing list of bouts slated for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 Finale at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 21, according to recent MySpace post from the "Beastman."
Here's the snip:
"the next victim of the beastman is on june 21 at the palms casino on the finale of the ultimate fighter, forrest vs rampage. drew mc fedries is my last fight under contract with the ufc. this contract was a buyout from the purchase of the WFA BUY THE UFC. I GOT 'RIPPED' so stay tuned because im comming old school beastman on free tv. 1 love"
Terry Martin was the most recent victim — Eastman outlasted the heavy-handed slugger en route to a unanimous decision win at UFC 81: "Breaking Point" back in February. He has one loss since his return to the promotion after a four-year hiatus to Quinton Jackson at UFC 67: "All or Nothing" last year.
McFedries is coming off a tough technical knockout loss to Patrick Cote at UFC Fight Night 12 to kickoff his 2008 fight campaign. The Miletich-trained fighter; however, was dealing with the horrific murder of his mother, as well as recovering from a serious staph infection.
This fight was first discussed for possible inclusion on the UFC 77: "Hostile Territory" card in November 2007. Eastman was having eye problems and McFedries was dealing with his "football-sized" wound.
It's clearly a fight that the UFC brass wants to see ... perhaps because it is a nice match up that on paper should not last very long.
