Undefeated heavyweight talent Brandon Vera and the UFC agreed to a six-fight contract extension, according to FightNework.com.
The deal locks-in the services of "The Truth" seemingly until sometime in 2009.
Here's the snip:
"UFC heavyweight contender Brandon Vera confirmed on Fight Network Radio Friday that he had agreed to a six-fight extension with the Las Vegas-based promotion."
Just last week UFC President Dana White announced that Vera was finally back after management issues shelved him for months. In fact, he hasn't competed since defeating Frank Mir via technical knockout at UFC 65 in November 2006.
There is already some speculation -- fueled mostly by remarks attributed to White -- that Vera will lock horns with former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia as early as UFC 77 on October 20.
Nothing at this point, however, is official.
Vera has spoken numerous times about fighting at heavyweight and light heavyweight. With the stable of skilled fighters brimming in both weight classes, it would make for some very exciting match ups.
And now he's got the time to get in on the action.
