UFC 73: Chris Lytle vs. Jeff Joslin

Chris Lytle (22-14-5) looks for his first win inside the Octagon since August of 2004 as he faces UFC sophomore Jeff Joslin (5-3) at UFC 73 in Sacremento on July 7 according to MMAweekly.com.

After a successful run on The Ultimate Fighter 4, Lytle came up just short in the finale against Matt Serra losing a tough split-decision. He later faced Matt Hughes in a one-sided decision loss at UFC 68.

Despite showing competence as a mixed martial artist in both contests, his 2-6 record inside the Octagon probably makes this match a must win if he hopes to remain on television.

Jeff Joslin made his debut back in December, dropping a unanimous decision to Josh Koscheck at Fight Night 7. While he sports a winning record at 5-3, he does have notable losses to UFC veterans Jon Fitch and Jonathan Goulet in smaller promotions.

Much like Lytle, winning this match could mean the difference between the UFC and the WEC. Starting 0-2 in the Octagon with today's stacked and competitive welterweight division would not bode well for future consideration.
