Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will begin to train six weeks out from his May 26 title fight against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell, ensuring that he is in top form for only his second — and most important — appearance in the Octagon, according to a wild interview with BoxingTalk.com.
Here's a quote mash from Rampage:
"You don't want to over-peek. You have to know exactly what you are doing so you can be strong and that's a wrap. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, you in a boat load of trouble. Boat load of it!.... I'm ready dog. I'm going to train like I've never trained before. I'm going to have reputable sparring partners and I'm going to do my thang; like I always do. Win, lose or draw, the fans will be happy...."
According to Rampage — and consider the source and his penchant for sarcasm — all the chatter of Liddell considering a move up to heavyweight to face Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and some other talented fighters is because he's going to get "ass-whooped" at UFC 71.
Here's another gem:
"You know Chuck already anticipating an ass whooping. He talking about moving up to heavyweight because Randy Couture has the belt. I know what's going on. He might get scared and move to heavyweight right before our fight. You never know."
That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to outrageous comments from the former PRIDE FC standout in the article, who beat the "Iceman" back in 2003.
From his preference to fat Japanese chicks and "flabby labby" to a foreign television interview he conducted drunk and on antibiotics, Rampage offers up yet another classic.
