UFC 71: A healthy Liddell sets his sights on Rampage

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell has received a clean bill of health and is in good shape after being on the shelf for nine weeks battling pneumonia and other fighter-related maladies, according to a recent interview with BoxingTalk.com.

Here's a snip from the "Iceman:"

"... I'm feeling really good and I'm in good shape.... I just went in for my last checkup with my doctor. Had some X-rays done and everything. He wanted to make sure everything was cleaned up and everything looked good, so he's real happy."

Liddell is slated to face Quinton "Rampage" Jackson on at UFC 71 on May 26. And, according to the interview, Liddell is a much different fighter than when he lost to the former PRIDE FC star in 2003.

According to Liddell, Rampage is going to have a lot of trouble at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Memorial Day weekend.

Here's another snip:

"I've beet waiting to get it [this fight]. Rampage is a tough guy and I like Rampage, but I can't wait to go out there and knock him out.... A lot comes down to the training and being ready for it and just getting after it. I think I'm a lot different fighter and I've improved a lot. I think he's going to have trouble fighting me this time."

Sounds like Chuck is back in bit-ness after his Texas morning show debacle and ready for revenge. Whether or not he lives up to those words at UFC 71 will be determined before we know it.
