Former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4 Rich "No Love" Clementi (24-11-1) will tangle with Roan "Jucão" Carneiro (10-5) at UFC Fight Night 9 on April 5, according to a report from GracieMag.com.
This will be the third appearance for Clementi on a SpikeTV card, dating back to the TUF 4 Finale in November. Since the show wrapped, he's been choked out by Din Thomas and choked out Ross Pointon at UFC Fight Night 8.
Carneiro — who was supposed to fight Anthony Torres before he suffered an injury — is looking to turn some heads in his UFC debut against the veteran.
Here's a snip from the Brazilian:
"The guy [Clementi] is a more recognized name. I'm gonna go after him with all I've got, since I want to make an impression in my first fight in the Octagon. His nickname is ‘No Love', mine is ‘Make Love'. Clementi is more of a standup guy. I will trade standing a little, of course, but I will not break from my Jiu-Jitsu. I am going to watch the American's fights over the coming days...."
Carneiro trains with the vaunted Brazilian Top Team camp and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. He has gone up against some very tough fighters in his career, including UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and Ryo Chonan (both losses).
This is billed as a welterweight (170 lbs.) bout.
