UFC welterweight Jon Fitch (12-2) has signed a bout agreement to fight Luigi Fioravanti (10-1) at UFC 68 on March 3, according to a recent MySpace bulletin.
Here it is:
I will be fighting on March 3rd in Columbus Ohio at UFC 68. My opponent is Luigi Fioravanti. Make sure to watch the PPV or if you're close to Columbus get your ass out to the show and show some support for this Knuckle head. This is the same card as Tim Silvia vs. Randy Coture. This show will deffinantely be worth the money.
This match up has been in the works for some time now. In fact, we told you about it two weeks ago. To read that post click here.
I'm an unabashed Fitch fan, so this is good news. It just sucks that it may not make the pay-per-view broadcast.
Check out this tentative UFC 68 line up:
Hvywt.: Tim Sylvia (23-2) vs. Randy Couture (14-8)
170 lb. Matt Hughes (40-5) vs. Chris Lytle (22-13-5)
185 lb. Rich Franklin (20-2) vs. Jason MacDonald (18-7)
185 lb. Mike Swick (10-1) vs. Yushin Okami (19-3)
205 lb. Renato "Babalu" Sobral (27-6) vs. Jason Lambert (22-6)
170 lb. Jon Fitch (12-2) vs. Luigi Fioravanti (10-1)
205 lb. Matt Hamill (2-0) vs. Rex Holman (4-1)
185 lb. Martin Kampmann (14-2) vs. Drew McFedries (5-1)
Hvywt.: Assuerio Silva (12-5) vs. TBA
With heavy hitters like these at the top of the card, we'll once again probably miss out on another Fitch fight.
Apparently, this problem has not been solved.
