I live in a UFC bubble.
I do my best not to report on other MMA promotions, because quite honestly, the UFC is enough to handle.
I often catch some flak, but hey, look at the domain. We're UFC exclusive ... for the most part.
Don't ask me how, but I managed to scrounge up a ticket last minute for UFC Fight Night 8 tonight (or yesterday).
It was a great lineup from top to bottom sans the Herring-O'Brien fight. Sorry to you all at home who had to suffer through it.
Our thoughts -- and great pictures -- of the event will follow shortly.
I just want to pass along a bit of news regarding former UFC heavyweight contender Jeff Monson.
I literally bumped into him tonight. And, judging by the sheer size of his compactness, I found it rather coincidental.
At any rate, with camera in hand, I requested a photo. His girlfriend was cold, so he obliged as long as we stepped into the nearest pub.
After the photo, I couldn't resist and asked him what happened to the Fedor fight. He told me straight out that it fell through ... BUT he would be fighting his brother, Aleksander, in April.
So, Jeff Monson vs. Aleksander Emelianenko under the BoDog banner come April.
If that's old news, well, it's not my fault.
I'm a UFC guy.
