Right after UFC Fight Night 8, former UFC champion Randy Couture will appear on SpikeTV's "Pros vs. Joes" program at 10 p.m. EST.
The mixed martial arts legend will take on three average guys — with no MMA experience — and attempt to submit each one of them as many times as possible in five-minute spans.
According to FightNetwork.com, which received an advanced taping of the episode, whoever taps out the least will be declared the winner.
Some of the footage aired on "Inside the UFC" last week and it was pretty amusing to watch Couture manhandle these saps.
As you may or may not know, Couture isn't just an MMA fighter. "The Natural" is first and foremost an extremely accomplished wrestler.
Check out this resume:
- Four-time World Team member
- Placed 8th in the 1997 World Championship in Poland
- Pan American Games Champion
- Four-time Greco-Roman National Champion
- Three-time college All-American
- Two-time runner-up at NCAA National Championships
I might be missing something, but to say that Couture is a world class wrestler would be an understatement.
According to the article, Couture will appear on the show with MLB baseball great Jose Canseco, NBA San Antonio Spurs' standout Kevin Willis, and NFL Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin.
Of course, Couture recently announced his return to the Octagon and will face Tim Sylvia at UFC 68 on March 3 for the UFC heavyweight belt.
Not bad for a 43-year-old.
I'd send you over to SpikeTV.com for more, but it has to be the worst Web site ever built. Ever.
