Nick Diaz inks another fight deal with PRIDE FC

It looks like everyone wants a piece of former UFC fighter Nick Diaz.

Just days after signing a nonexclusive deal with Elite Extreme (EliteXC) to fight on ShowTime, Diaz is now locked up for two bouts with PRIDE FC, according to MMAWeekly.com.

And, he won't have to fly to Japan to make his debut. Diaz will take part in the promotion's second event here in the states on February 24 in Sin City.

Even better, the Caesar Gracie Fighting trainee will fight at lightweight —10 pounds less than the UFC 170-pound welterweight limit.

His potential opponent?

The PRIDE lightweight champion and possibly the best 160-pounder in the world, Takanori Gomi.

Here's a snip:

Diaz will be cutting to lightweight for his fight at Pride 33 on February 24th, and he expects to face a top-level opponent. Pride previously announced the participation of two lightweights on the Pride 33 card: Takanori Gomi and Hayato "Mach" Sakurai.... If Diaz does fight Gomi, it will not be for Gomi's Pride Lightweight Title, as Pride previously announced that Gomi's fight at Pride 33 will be a non-title fight.

According to the article, Diaz' contracts with Pride and EliteXC do not conflict with each other.

Pretty interesting.

It looks like Diaz is content to freelance and fight under as many banners as possible — Gracie Fighting Championships, EliteXC, and now PRIDE.

Next stop, IFL?
