UPDATE 1/26/06: Koscheck is rumored to be fighting Diego Sanchez at UFC 69 on April 7. He is no longer on this card.
Perhaps the rumored match up between welterweights Josh Koscheck (8-1) and Karo Parisyan (16-4) at UFC 68 was all just wishful thinking.
Koscheck — the former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season one contestant — is penciled in to appear at UFC Fight Night 10 on April 5, according to MMAWeekly.com.
His possible opponent was not revealed.
This is a bit of a surprise, considering that Koscheck has been extremely vocal about wanting a rematch with Diego Sanchez (17-0).
That isn't going to happen anytime soon, however, with Sanchez slated to fight Georges St. Pierre (13-1) later this year for the UFC welterweight title.
At the very least, it was assumed that after beating Jeff Joslin (5-3) at UFC Fight Night at Miramar in December that Koscheck would fight a top contender like Parisyan.
For the past few weeks, Internet rumors heated up that Parisyan and Koscheck would indeed clash — especially when it was revealed that Matt Hughes (40-5) would face Chris Lytle (22-13-5) that same evening and not "The Heat."
Not the case ... or so it seems.
As it stands now, Parisyan and Koscheck both have upcoming bouts, but on different dates. And, opponents for both fighters are still unknown.
All I want to know is, why?
The UFC 68 match ups get more puzzling with each passing day.
