Josh Burkman set to return at UFC Fight Night 8

Josh Burkman UFC FighterUFC welterweight Josh Burkman will return to the Octagon at Ultimate Fight Night (UFN) 8 on January 25, according to a recent MySpace bulletin.

Here's the message:

I just found out I'm fighting Jan 25th on UFN on Spike tv, I think it's in Florida... I know who I'm fighting and gonna be a war!! I'm sure they will announce it soon.

For the record, the event will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

This will be the first trip back to the cage for "The People's Warrior" since his war with Josh Neer at UFC 61. Burkman won the fight via unanimous decision but came away licking his wounds — a broken nose.

He was scheduled to return on October 10 against Tony DeSouza on the Final Conflict: "Ortiz-Shamrock III" undercard. However, he didn't give the injury enough time to heal and rebroke the nose during training.

Burkman eventually needed surgery to correct the problem.

Now the former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season two contestant — who beat Melvin Guillard on the show but broke his arm in the process — is set to return on the Rashad Evans-Sean Salmon undercard.

His opponent has not been made public.

According to all reports, this card appears to be booked. It'll be interesting to see where the Burkman match fits into the mix.
