The dream match up between the best light heavyweight in PRIDE – Wanderlei Silva – and the baddest light heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship – Chuck Liddell – appears to be just that:
A dream.
According to the Calgary Sun, the much-anticipated mixed martial arts bout between the rival champions scheduled for November might be no longer.
Here's a snip from UFC President Dana White:
"I don't even know if Silva's going to happen."
White cites problems in dealing with the Japan-based PRIDE.
If this mega fight doesn't go down, we very well may see the Liddell-Ortiz II rematch. Of course, Liddell beat up Tito Ortiz in UFC 47 back in 2004.
We'll keep you posted.
