Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock will face off one last time at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4 season on October 10, according to an article yesterday in the Lassen County News.
These mixed martial arts fighters recently took to the Octagon for their much anticipated – and insanely over hyped – rematch on July 8 at UFC 61: "Bitter Rivals." Tito manhandled the "World's Most Dangerous Man" in what some viewed as a premature first round stoppage by referee Herb Dean.
But, it was clearly only a matter of time before Tito really hurt Shamrock. The stoppage was just, but paying all that money to watch an over-the-hill dinosaur get his ass handed to him was highway robbery.
That's the reason the final chapter of the trilogy will take place on cable television's SpikeTV.
Here's a snip from Shamrock:
"This was a big fight, given all the build up coming into to it, but we didn't give the fans the big fight they expected. So this one is for the fans who paid all that money expecting to see us fight. This one's for them. It's a free fight for the fans, and I wouldn't have it any other way."
Regardless of the result on October 10, Shamrock has announced that this will be his last professional fight ... he's hanging up the gloves.
I think we all know how this one is going to turn out – Shamrock hasn't won a meaningful fight in about four years. The only questions that remain are how long will the referee this time let Tito pummel him, and how badly will Ken get hurt.
We'll see on October 10 – for FREE!
