Over the weekend, searches for the UFC and its fighters soared into the top five overall according to the Yahoo! Buzz score.

The UFC has kicked traditional boxing to the curb in terms of buzz, and we see no signs of it slowing down.
Sure, the massive spike was due mainly in part to UFC 61: "Bitter Rivals." But that is a serious statistic, especially when you consider the World Cup and the infinite amount of major international issues out there.
According to Yahoo!, a subject's buzz score is:
... the percentage of Yahoo! users searching for that subject on a given day, multiplied by a constant to make the number easier to read. Weekly leaders are the subjects with the greatest average buzz score for a given week.
Can only imagine what it's going to be like when UFC 62: "Liddell vs. Sobral" starts to heat up prior to the August 26 event.
