UFC 61: 'Bitter Rivals' Octagon Odds

Casino floorThe early UFC 61: "Bitter Rivals" betting lines are in thanks to our friends at Pinnaclesports.com.

UFC Hall of Famer and MMA dinosaur Ken Shamrock, not surprisingly, is a long shot to beat Tito "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Ortiz.

SpikeTV last night aired Ortiz v. Shamrock I at UFC 40, which Tito scored a convincing TKO after Shamrock didn't come out for the start of the fourth round. It was amazing to see again how Tito dominated "The World's Most Dangerous Man" and turned his face into a swollen, bloody mess.

About four years later – and much older – it will be shocking if Shamrock can pull this out. He will almost certainly have to knockout Ortiz ... not an easy task.

Don't be surprised if this fight is shorter than the first. It's more about hype and respect than a fair match up.

The main event, however, should live up to its expectations. The rubber match between UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski is a toss up. Even though the challenger – Arlovski – is the favorite, both guys have proven that they can beat the other guy.

Something tells us that Sylvia likes those odds. So do we, but we'd just like to see it last longer than four minutes this time.

Here are the other odds for the event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada:

Andrei Arlovski -249
Tim Sylvia +229

Tito Ortiz -512
Ken Shamrock +462

Frank Mir -254
Dan Christison +234

Yves Edwards -207
Joe Stevenson +187

Jeff Monson -547
Anthony Perosh +497

Drew Fickett -146
Kurt Pellegrino +136

Gilbert Aldana +123
Cheick Kongo -133

Josh Neer -119
Josh Burkman +109

In case you're wondering, the negative sign (-) means the fighter is a favorite, while the plus sign (+) indicates an underdog.
