Pic: B.J. Penn prepares for Rory MacDonald fight at UFC 152. It seems as though retirement has been good to his waistline. The good news is "The Prodigy" has more than enough time to make the 170-pound division by Sept. 22, 2012, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
UFC President Dana White may be even more of an evil genius than you thought. Removing Nick Diaz from the main event of UFC 137 only to place him in the co-main event in a still high profile fight against B.J. Penn was a roll of the dice, no question. But you can't argue they came up snake eyes. Click here to find out the how and why.

Penn locking up with former Strikeforce kingpin Nick Diaz in the co main event of the evening. For the complete UFC 137 fight card and line-up click here.
Jon Fitch, who injured his shoulder and has been out of action since his Feb. 27 draw with B.J. Penn, has been cleared to fight again, as he explained on Twitter. "I'm back! Dr. Kavitne gave me the ok to fight." Fitch has repeatedly stated his desire to appear on the UFC 139 fight card coming to his backyard in San Jose on Nov. 19. But he also said he only wants to fight current or former champions. You Maniacs care to find an opponent for him? Anyone that fits the bill?
Jon Fitch wants to return at UFC 138 on Nov. 19 in San Jose. He tweeted today: "I feel amazing. See the doc on tue. I would love to fight my friend and legend @bjpenndotcom in San Jose in nov. I hope I'm healthy by then." Fitch, of course, trains at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), which is conveniently located right there in San Jose. Anyone hoping this rematch against "The Prodigy" comes to fruition?
BJ Penn tells Jake Shields that he's contacting Dana White to set up a fight between the two former champions. "The Prodigy" claims Shields has been calling him out for years. Shields -- who is coming off a loss to Georges St. Pierre -- recently remarked that a fight with Penn is "not a bad idea." Will BJ get what BJ wants or are there better fights out there for both fighters ... and the fans?

Jon Fitch, who was forced to pull out of his scheduled UFC 132 fight against B.J. Penn, will need surgery to repair his injured shoulder. The perennial welterweight contender announced the news on his Twitter: "Looks like I will be getting shoulder surgery next week. Not the news I was looking for." No timetable has been announced for his return but Fitch says he will be out for at least four to six months.
