Alan Belcher continues with the eye injury updates from his official Twitter.com account, providing a pic of lacerated lid that required eight stitches to fix after Michael Bisping accidentally poked him in the third and final round of their UFC 159 co-main event this past weekend. "The Talent," who was unable to continue, went on to drop a technical decision to "The Count." The good news is that injury, which you can watch happen here, was not more serious. A very close call, considering his 2010 surgery to correct a detached retina in the same eye, one that nearly ended his MMA career.
You wanted it? You got it. After initially being rumored yesterday when both Alan Belcher and Vitor Belfort called each other out and tentatively accepted a fight against each other, the UFC made it official for UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, later this October. Both "The Phenom" and "The Talent" are coming off some solid wins in the middleweight division and are looking to move up the ladder. What's your first impression on this stellar matchup?
Michael Bisping responds to Alan Belcher calling him out, saying "The Talent's" tattoo artist, who inked his infamous Johnny Cash tattoo, is the real asshole:
"I suppose he thinks he can get back in the mix by calling me out. But if he wants an easy fight he should sue his tattooist for that abomination on his arm. I know Belcher has vision problems right now but we still have to look at that mess. He’s got a lot of nerve calling me an a--hole when he walks round with that on him. Although lets be fair, the real a--hole is the tattooist who drew that."
