Latest UFC on FUEL TV 3 odds and betting guide for 'Korean Zombie vs Poirier' in Virginia
Hello, "Diamond" Tuesday.
With Erik Koch taking on Jose Aldo for his Featherweight title this summer, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) needs to find out who gets winner later this year.
And there’s only one way to do that.
In the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 3, Korean slugger Chan Sung Jung and American wrecking machine Dustin Poirier will collide in a fantastic 145-pound showdown. In addition, striking specialists Jeremy Stephens and Donald Cerrone will look to bounce back from recent defeats to title challengers Nate Diaz and Anthony Pettis, respectively, in the second-best main card attraction.
As usual, there’s profit to be made in this senseless cavalcade of mixed martial arts (MMA) violence.
Join us after the break for an in-depth look at the odds behind UFC on FUEL TV 3: "Korean Zombie vs. Poirier" as we examine the betting lines for the upcoming MMA match ups tomorrow night (May 15, 2012) at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia:
UFC 149: Jose Aldo opens as heavy favorite over Erik Koch
When Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) makes its debut in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on July 21, 2012, at the Scotiabank Saddledome for UFC 149, it will do so with a featherweight championship main event bout pitting titleholder Jose Aldo against warm body number one contender Erik Koch.
And to the surprise of no one, "Scarface" is heavily favored.
According to MMAOddsbreakers, Aldo has been inserted as a -385 favorite for his next title defense, which had been up in the air until the very last minute when decision makers decided he was a worthy headliner for the promotion's debut in a new Canadian province.
The same might not be said for his opponent, Koch, who limps in as the +285 underdog.
Agree with that decision or not, all other top division contenders are locked up at the moment -- Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung is set for UFC on FUEL TV 3 and Hatsu Hioki vs. Ricardo Lamas likely for UFC on FX 4.
That means Koch appears to be the only viable (and logical) competition left standing ... even if there aren't many who are giving him much of a chance.
Latest UFC on FOX 3 odds and betting guide for 'Diaz vs Miller' in New Jersey
No better time for a fight fiesta than on Cinco de Mayo.
Learning from the mistakes of its past two cards on the channel (namely, don't try to fill an hour with a single fight when one of the combatants has a metric ton of first round knockouts and don't fill your free card with grapplers whose number of recent finishes can be counted on one hand), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has put together a solid plethora of entertaining scraps for its third trip to the FOX network.
Lightweight contenders Jim Miller and Nate Diaz will collide in the UFC on Fox 3 five-round main event at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., while Johny Hendricks will look to add a bleached-blonde scalp to his growing collection when he faces Josh Koscheck in the co-featured fight of the night.
In addition, grappling master Rousimar Palhares and striking whiz Alan Belcher will look to take the next step toward the elite of the Middleweight division in other exciting televised main card mixed martial arts (MMA) action.
And where there's free entertainment, there's scratch to be made on the side.

Jon Jones opens as heavy favorite over Dan Henderson
After all the smoke had settled at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sat., April 21, 2012, at UFC 145, and Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones had successfully defended his title by soundly defeating the fighter who knew him best, Rashad Evans, one question rang out from mixed martial arts (MMA) fans everywhere.
Who can stop this man?
It's an impossible question to answer, though many will try. And it's the task of UFC matchmaker Joe Silva and promotion President Dana White to do their damnedest to find the best candidate for the job.
First up on the list is former Strikeforce Champion Dan Henderson, who will challenge Jones sometime this year, possibly at UFC 149 on July 21 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With his monster right hand, wrestling pedigree, and uncanny ability to fend off Father Time, he's been given about as much chance as anyone else in the 205-pound division, at least by fans and pundits.
Oddsmakers? Now that's another story.
Latest UFC 145 odds and betting guide for 'Jones vs. Evans' in Atlanta
Rashad Evans: "I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul because I think I'm better than you!"
Jon Jones: "I'll take your bet, your gonna regret because I'm the best that's ever been!"
Fire on the mountain, run Maniacs, run. That's because if the devil does decide to come back to Georgia, this weekend (April 21, 2012) at the Philips Arena is as good a time as any.
After handily disposing of former champions Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson and Lyoto Machida, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones has a chance to settle an old score in the UFC 145 main event when he finally collides with former training partner Rashad Evans.
For "Suga," this will mark his first bid at reclaiming the 205-pound belt that he lost to the aforementioned Machida back in 2009.
In other pay-per-view (PPV) main card action, ultra mixed martial arts (MMA) prospects Rory MacDonald and Michael McDonald will make their long-awaited 2012 debuts, taking on the dangerous Miguel Torres and Che Mills, respectively.
And speaking of sin and vice, where there's violence, there's money to be made. Just ask good 'ole Charlie Daniels.

UFC 148 odds: Michael Bisping opens as sizable favorite over Tim Boetsch
When word leaked that Michael Bisping had been paired up against Tim Boetsch for the UFC 148: "Cruz vs. Faber 3" event set to take place on July 7, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada, it came as a surprise to fight fans everywhere.
More surprising? The fact that the British bad boy admitted to outright turning down a bout against Cung Le while claiming he felt Boetsch would be a tougher fight than middleweight mauler Mark Munoz.
If that's the case, it's not being reflected at the sportsbooks. In fact, according to the latest edition of the MMA Oddsbreakers show, Bisping has been inserted as the sizable favorite at -315 for the Fourth of July weekend clash.
Boetsch limps in as the +245 underdog.
Anyone think "The Barbarian" isn't getting enough respect here?
