Dan Hardy is taking some time off to deal with his "Wolf Heart" condition and, in the process, adding to his expansive tattoo collection with the help of the super talented Tim Hendricks. Little chance Hendricks screws up any piece, much less on the former UFC No. 1 Welterweight contender. Indeed, "The Outlaw" might be a "changed man," but it's safe to assume he's not choking out Hendricks anytime soon.
Holy smokes! I may have to start watching baseball again after last night's (June 11, 2013) wild bench-clearing brawl between Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks, which started when Ian Kennedy beaned Zack Greinke in the noggin. You know it's bad when mild-mannered Don Mattingly has to be restrained and hey look, there's Mark McGwire vs. Kirk Gibson! Nutty night at the ballpark and ejections galore ... who said the National League was boring?
NBA Players like Kobe, Ron Artest, Blake Griffin, and others read mean tweets about themselves.
Check out the above video as UFC lightweight prospect Myles Jury showcases some of his "Jury Jiu-Jitsu" while breaking down this past weekend's UFC on Fuel TV 10 main event between Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Learn anything?
This is a video I shot of Bellator and BAMMA veteran Przemylsaw 'Misiek' Mysiala training at London Shootfighters. 'Misiek' was last seen in action fighting in Bellator, where he fought Muhammed Lawal A.K.A. 'King Mo'. It has recently been announced that the light-heavyweight mixed martial artist will be returning to the cage at UCMMA 35 on August 3rd, when he squares off against Carl Winslow.
-- UFC light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson encourages divisional titleholder Jon Jones to give him a date. For what, you ask? It’s not for dinner and drinks, that’s for sure. If one had to guess, it’s most likely has to do with “The Mauler” hoping for a crack at Jones’ title in the immediate future. While the UFC hasn’t confirmed Gustafsson will get the next 205-pound title shot, all indications point that will be the case. From the staredown in Russia to Gustafsson saying he expects his shot “very soon,” it appears a fight between two of the largest fighters in the division could happen in the not so distant future.
More than one decade ago, Eddie Bravo -- a relatively unknown Brazilian jiu-jitsu enthusiast -- pulled off a shocking submission of the previously unbeaten Royler Gracie, the son of Helio Gracie, the founder of modern-day jiu-jitsu. Now, nearly 10 years later, Bravo and Gracie are finally expected to roll it back under the Metamoris 3 banner. For more details click here and here.
-- While it looked like Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira may have suffered another gruesome arm injury as the result of a Fabricio Werdum submission in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 10, “Minotauro” is reportedly without any major injuries according to a Brazilian reporter Guilherme Cruz, who translated a Twitter message from Nogueira’s coach Luiz Dorea. “Big Nog” did not attend the post-fight press conference, which raised questions about his health following the bout. The trip to the hospital was apparently just a precautionary measure, though, as the former PRIDE and interim UFC champion is said to have no major damage to his arm or shoulder. -- Even though he is still recovering from knee surgery, Gegard Mousasi is continuously beating the drum for a fight with top middleweight contender Vitor Belfort should he return to 185-pounds for his next fight. “The Dreamcatcher” stated that Belfort was willing to fight him on short notice at UFC on FUEL TV 9 back in April, and just a few weeks ago mentioned Belfort as a “big name” fight he would be interested in. Friday (June 7, 2013) morning on Twitter, Mousasi once again expressed interest in matching up with “The Phenom.”
-- UFC middleweight Ronny Markes was involved in a car accident this morning (June 7, 2013) that has forced him off the UFC on FUEL TV 10 fight card and out of his fight with Derek Brunson. Brazilian news outlet SporTV Globo was able to capture photos of the vehicle just minutes after the accident, which reportedly happened after coach Andre Pederneiras crashed into a truck. Markes hurt his neck, head and ribs in the accident; however, none of the injuries are said to be serious.
