GIF: Rousimar Palhares (Late?) Heel Hook Submission Over Steve Carl At WSOF 9

Click HERE if the image does not play. Deposed UFC welterweight Rousimar Palhares -- booted from the ranks of ZUFFA for holding on to his submissions after the tap - is your new World Series of Fighting (WSOF) welterweight champion, having submitted Steve Carl on Saturday night (March 29, 2014) on NBC Sports from Las Vegas, Nevada (full event results here). But did "Toquinho" take a little too long to break the hold? Tempers are flaring on Twitter and there seems to be arguments in both directions. Take a look at the clip and let us know where you stand. GIF courtesy of Zombie Prophet (follow him here).

Former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Vitali Klitschko Withdraws From Ukraine Presidential Race

Boo! Former heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko is no longer running for president of Ukraine, instead getting behind billionaire oligarch Petro Poroshenko, according to James Mates (via NBC News). I guess that brings an end to my dream of having every global conflict settled like that "Two Tribes" video from Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Oh well. Photo by Andrew Redington for Getty Images.

GIF: Brett Cooper Knocks Out Kendall Grove Via Donkey Kong Punches At Bellator 114

(Click here if you can't view the GIF) That's some serious ground-and-pound! Former UFC middleweight and TUF 3 champion Kendall Grove got pounded into dust at the Bellator 114 event on Friday night (March 28, 2014) in Utah (results here). The loss for "Da Spyder" (19-14) snapped a two-fight winning streak while "Fudoshin" (20-9) bounces back from his loss to Alexander Shlemenko last September. Thanks to Zombie Prophet for the GIF.

Pic: Injured Raphael Assuncao Apologizes For New UFC 173 Main Event

A lot of fans thought Raphael Assuncao -- winner of six straight -- was slighted when the promotion asked TJ Dillashaw to fight Renan Barao for the bantamweight title in the new UFC 173 main event (more on that here). That's because the Brazilian beat the Team Alpha Male product by way of split decision in late 2013, but was unable to answer the call when matchmakers needed him, thanks to an injury suffered in last month's win over Pedro Munoz. Perhaps Assuncao can get first dibs on the winner?

GIF: This Awful Referee (Cough) 'Stoppage' Will Leave You Embarrassed To Be An MMA Fan

What. The. Fuck. Referee Wiekus Swart just stands there, watching Christophe Walravens destroy Bernardo Mikixi with illegal punches to the head earlier today in Johannesburg. No warning, no intervention, no nothing. In fact, Walravens has to physically stop the abuse and throw his hands up before the official even realizes he's supposed to do something. Keep in mind, this is the same promotion that had a fighter die after one of its fights. Congratulations, EFC Africa, you've officially replaced Bellator 113 for "worst stoppage of the year." Thanks to @GrabakaHitman for the GIF (follow him here).

Pic: Chad Mendes Is F---ing Huge And Will Probably Crush You

Uh ... holy shit. UFC featherweight top contender Chad Mendes posted this pic of Team Alpha Male (via Instagram) with the caption "killed a Strength n conditioning workout." He may have killed more than that looking at those legs. I guess the new and improved Cung Le is getting a run for his "Money" in the huge factor. Yikes.

Cody McKenzie Looking For Work Following UFC Departure

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 12 standout Cody McKenzie is back on Twitter following his departure from UFC and currently looking for a mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion to call home. The "AK Kid" -- known for his guillotine finish -- compiled a 3-4 record inside the Octagon and was never able to generate any kind of momentum; however, he's hoping to get back into the win column on the regional scene and work his way back up to the big show. Ray Sefo ... where you at?
