It was another impressive performance for Antonio Carlos Junior earlier tonight (Sat., June 3, 2017) at UFC 212 from inside the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 winner choked out submission specialist Eric Spicely after a back-and-forth chess match. Spicely welcomed the grappling in the early going, but “Shoe Face” showed an offensive instinct the entire way, offering countless submission attempts through the course of nine minutes. And after gaining back control late into the second round, Carlos Junior put a stamp on his memorable performance, submitting Spicely via rear-naked choke.
The slick submission can be seen below courtesy of UFC.

With this win, Carlos Junior extends his middleweight win streak to three. At just 27 years of age, you would expect that the evolving Brazilian can crack the top 15 by the end of the year. Tonight might have been Carlos Junior’s best Octagon performance to date.
