The negative thing about talking trash or making bold proclamations is that if you don’t back it up, you leave yourself wide open for ridicule by just about everyone.
After Derrick Lewis suffered a technical knockout loss to Mark Hunt in the main event of UFC Fight Night 110 last night (Sat., June 10, 2017) in Auckland, New Zealand (see it), Travis Browne took to Instagram to clown “The Black Beast” for being a quitter and spreading “false news” about him.

Ouch.
Indeed, prior to Travis and Derrick’s 265-pound showdown at UFC Fight Night 105 earlier this year — which Lewis won via second round knockout — the hulking Heavyweight tried his best to get under “Hapa’s” skin by bringing up his alleged domestic abuse case from 2015, in which he was eventually cleared of wrongdoing after his ex-wife accused him of beating her up.
For Derrick, the alleged incident hit close to home as he grew up in a household where domestic violence existed.
Still, despite never being charged, Lewis didn’t let up on Browne, going as far as adding insult to injury by bringing it up, yet again, during his post-fight speech after knocking out the Hawaiian. He also had something to say about his future wife.
After his loss to Hunt, Lewis revealed he’d “likely” be walking away from the fight game, something Travis found fitting as Derrick didn’t show heart and quit in the bout. But, if he’s down for one more fight, “Hapa” would love nothing more than to get a rematch.
