Undefeated featherweight prospect Gavin Tucker will make his return to the Octagon opposite former WSOF champion Rick Glenn at UFC 216 on Sept. 9 from inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada, per a recent report by The Chronicle Herald. It is the first fight to be announced for the event.
Tucker, 30, upset Sam Sicilia in his promotional debut back at UFC Fight Night 105. The Newfoundland native looked fairly impressive in that outing by picking Sicilia apart from range with his boxing. A victory over Glenn may very well set Tucker up for a top 15 showdown by the end of the year.
Glenn, 28, is a former featherweight world champion who has produced a 1-1 record since making his UFC debut last year, losing to Evan Dunham at UFC Fight Night 94 in a Fight of the Night performance and defeating Phillipe Nover via decision this past February at UFC 208. If he can string together some wins entering 2018, Glenn may be a threat to test the division’s top 10.
UFC 216 currently has no main event, but this guy could very well be a part of the show.
