Good morning! The best to you each morning!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Josh Burkman woke up to a nice surprise on Thursday, as armed DEA agents, along with the Miami SWAT team, were raiding his facility.
Burkman trains at Budokan University, which shares premises with Iron Addicts gym. Turns out the latter was a central hub for a multi-state steroid distribution ring, operating under the name Wellness Fitness Nutrition (WFN).
“They kicked the doors in,” Burkman told the local news cameras after the dust had settled (via Bloody Elbow). “The SWAT team came in and woke us up and said, ‘Hey, get up and get out of here!’”
10 people were arrested on charges of steroid distribution and money laundering.
Burkman is scheduled to fight Michel Prazeres in a lightweight showdown at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 106 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on March 11, 2017, in Fortaleza, Brazil.
