Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm will attempt to make history, becoming the promotion’s first-ever female fighter to hold titles in two different divisions when she tangles with Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural featherweight crown at the upcoming UFC 208 pay-per-view (PPV) event, taking place TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 11, 2017) inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Holm (10-2) jumped out to a perfect 10-0 in her mixed martial arts (MMA) career, capped off by a brutal, second-round knockout win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Unfortunately, her time atop the 135-pound mountain would not last, as “The Preacher’s Daughter” suffered consecutive losses to Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko. Blame the weight cut?
Opposing her is De Randamie (6-3), a powerful striker who amassed a staggering 46-0 record in professional Muay Thai with 30 knockouts. In addition, the “Iron Lady” racked up 10 world titles and is now riding consecutive wins under the UFC banner. After smashing Larissa Pacheco at UFC 185, the Dutch destroyer creamed Anna Elmose last May.
