Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is slowly but surely beefing up its UFC 209 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, also featuring “Prelims” on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass, taking place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 4, 2017.
First up is the heavyweight return of Todd Duffee (9-3), who hasn’t been seen since getting planished by former division kingpin Frank Mir back in July 2015. Opposing him is the rough-and-tumble Mark Godbeer (11-3), who is looking to rebound from a submission loss to Justin Ledet back last November.
That’s not all.
Also on the docket is featherweight phenom Mirsad Bektic (11-0), on a quest to keep his undefeated record intact by way of victory over longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Darren “The Damage” Elkins (21-5), winner of three straight.
Fun!
UFC 209 is expected to be headlined by the heavyweight showdown — and PRIDE FC rematch -- of Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem. That’s assuming “Demolition Man” will agree to the Samoan’s “Super” drug testing stipulations (more on that here).
