Even the most jaded mixed martial arts (MMA) fan (guilty) is going to be excited by this one.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Robbie Lawler has put pen to paper for a 170-pound throw down against lightweight import -- and prolific welterweight finisher -- Donald Cerrone. They'll do the deed on the UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) main card on Nov. 12, 2016 inside Madison Square Garden in New York.
But don't take my word for it:
UFC News: @danawhite just told me the papers are signed off on a Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone match for #UFC205 card at MSG in NYC.

Bangfest!
Lawler (27-11, 1 NC) is looking to rebound from his UFC 201 knockout loss to Tyron Woodley in late July. The "Ruthless" finish snapped a five-fight winning streak and put the longtime veteran behind top contenders like Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia.
But perhaps not for long.
Cerrone (31-7, 1 NC) moved up from lightweight earlier this year and quickly put together three straight wins, all of them finishes. "Cowboy" was last seen beating the brakes off welterweight stalwart Rick Story at the UFC 202 extravaganza just last month.
Also slotted for UFC 205 is the lightweight pairing of Al Iaquinta vs. Thiago Alves.
Fun!
